Thursday Schedule of Events and Agenda

6:30-7:00 PM – Reception at Kansas NEA Building, 715 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS

            Refreshments provided by United School Administrators

7:00-8:30 PM – Work Session and Invited Speakers

  • Invited speakers from Commissioner Posny’s office and Governor Sebelius’ office.

  • Preparing for strategies and actions:  Presentation on current status of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.

Friday Schedule of Events and Agenda

Meeting from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Kansas NEA Building, 715 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS

Note:  Continental Breakfast provided by Kansas National Education Association.  Sherri Yourdon will collect $10 per person for lunch).

Question for the day:  By the end of the meeting, what is the work (issues and initiatives) that our subgroups will address that specifically contributes to the improvement of 21st century teaching & learning in Kansas schools?

Morning work groups – Facilitated discussions in each work group to identify SPECIFIC strategies or activities to advance the KLFA vision for 21st Century teaching and learning

Working lunch – Each group will present the results of their morning work

Afternoon whole group activity – Following presentations by the three groups during lunch, what have we generated?  How is it integrated across the groups?

1:45 PM-2 PM – Summary review and assignments for our next meeting
