KLFA Headlines:
| KLFA & KTWU - Report on Watch and
Talk Parties available online! |
 |
Reading, Writing & a Worthwhile Education
aired on
September 23, 2009 and a series of successful Watch and Talk parties
were conducted in numerous communities across Kansas in
conjunction with the original airing AND with an online video
of the program available via Washburn University at
iTunes University.
Now, the results are in
from this joint KLFA-KTWU project. Cultural
literacy, acquiring 21st century skills, the need for thinking
critically, and the importance of parental involvement were
the most important elements of what party participants felt
would make a worthy Kansas public school system for the
future.

MILE Guide goes live! The Partnership for
21st Century Skills released its newly revised MILE Guide
- a resource to help teachers, schools, districts, and
communities evaluate their progress and plan the
transformations needed to bring 21st century skills,
teaching, and learning to life. With significant input
from past KLFA chair Blake West and staff at the Kansas
State Department of Education, don't be surprised if this
tool is particularly relevant for Kansas schools.
